Innovation a key component of BRE’s INSITE11 event 

BRE has announced new dates for its INSITE11 event which takes place from 4-5 Oct at its head office site in Watford. The event, which focuses on bringing innovations from the future to buildings of the past, will include a showcase of fifty new and near to market refurbishment technologies and materials that aspire to transform the retrofit arena. read more

Have you got a new innovative product, tool or material that would benefit the retrofit sector? If so we’d like you to take part in our INSITE11 Innovation Zone competition which aims to showcase exemplary near-to-market technologies for

  • energy efficiency
  • energy generation
  • retrofit/ refurbishment
  • climate change adaptation
  • assisted living adaptation

The zone will provide a lively and interactive forum to explore the new innovations that can be applied to the challenge of retrofit.  Visitors to INSITE11 will be invited to vote for their preferred innovation with the winner being announced at a ceremony sponsored by the CIOB. New Urbanisn guru Andres Duany to present at INSITE11 conference

Founder of the Congress for New Urbanism  Andres Duany will present on the principles and concepts of New Urbanism 101 in the Communities session of the INSITE11 conference. New Urbanism is a US design movement developed in the 1980s, which promotes walkable neighborhoods that contain a range of housing and job types. Since its inception it has influenced many aspects of real estate development, urban planning, and municipal land-use strategies across the states. INSITE11 runs from 4-5 Oct at BRE.
